Virtual Art Journaling Groups & Workshops

Currently Enrolling for January 2025!

“It’s good to pay attention to what you’re paying attention to.” - Brian Eno, musician

“Art making is a way of dwelling in whatever is before us that needs our attention.” - Pat B. Allen, art therapist

Art journaling is a low-stakes artmaking practice that can help invigorate—or re-invigorate—our creativity and support our wellbeing. And you don’t need any formal art experience or any specific materials (besides a journal) to participate.

I’m currently offering 2 different opportunities for you to join me in exploring this fun, energizing practice:

  1. A 3-hour workshop: Saturday, January 11th from 2-5pm ET, ($150)

  2. A 6-week journaling group: Thursday 1/16, 1/23, 1/30 and 2/13, 2/20, 2/27 from 6:30-8pm ET, ($350)

If you want to sign up for both, I’m offering a discounted rate of $450- reach out to me to register for this combination!

To increase accessibility to this group, I’m providing limited spaces at a pay-what-you-can rate on a first-come, first-served basis. If you do not have access to the resources to participate otherwise, please get in touch and we can discuss: lauren@laurenleone.com

About the workshop:

This 3-hour workshop is a great way to get into art journaling for the first time or to reengage with your artmaking practice. You’ll befriend your inner art critic through an art prompt, learn how art journaling can function as personal exploration and creative self-care, and set a creative intention to support your ongoing art practice. You’ll leave the workshop with your first 3 journal entries started and a list of prompts and materials to explore in further journaling.

About the 6-week group:

This 6-week group offers the same fundamental elements as the 3-hour workshop and pairs them with the benefits of creating art in community and having (low-pressure!) accountability and ongoing support for your art-making practice. You’ll conclude the 6 weeks with several completed journal entries and a consistent creative practice to build on once the group ends.

More about art journaling:

Art journaling is the practice of using text and images to create a visual diary or journal. It can provide us with a creative form of self-care and self-expression. Art journaling can help us approach our art making practice in a more intuitive and less judgmental way, giving us space to experiment with new materials, techniques, or imagery with low stakes. Art journaling can also help us overcome fear of the blank page and/or perfectionism and our inner art critic. It creates a place to consistently check in about what’s going on for us, can help us find relaxation and an embodied art practice, and can support our overall wellbeing.

Although these services are NOT art therapy, I bring almost 20 years of training and experience as an art therapist to support you in engaging with your creative practice.
